Off-Season Rundown Vol. 2

Uncasville, CT – Joyner Holmes and Sassari opened last week’s off-season play on Wednesday, October 12 with a win over EuroCup opponent, Kotrijk, 68-56. Holmes notched nine points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in the victory. With the win, Sassari has now qualified for the EuroCup regular season. Later in the week, Holmes and Sassari fell to Italian League opponent, Venezia, 84-60. Holmes led her team in the effort with 17 points and seven rebounds.
In her second overseas appearance, Nia Clouden and Lublin fell in a close battle to Polish League opponent, Gorzow, 68-67. Clouden tallied nine points and two rebounds in the contest.
Sun players are back in off-season action beginning with Holmes and Sassari on Tuesday, October 18 as they take on Italian League opponent, Valdarno, at 12:00PM EST. On Wednesday, October 19, Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and USK Praha play Slovanka at 11:00am EST and Clouden and Lublin face off against Torun at 11:00AM EST. To close out the week on Saturday, October 22, Jonquel Jones and CBK Mersin play Emlak Konut at 7:00AM EST, Thomas, B. Jones and USK Praha take on Hradec Kralove at 11:00AM EST, Clouden and Lublin face off against Polonia Warszawa at 12:00PM EST and Holmes and Sassari match up against Libertas Moncalieri at 2:30PM EST.
