Knicks Select Mayan Kiir, Jahvon Blair and Dazon Ingram in 2022 NBA G League Draft

TARRYTOWN, NY – The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, selected Mayan Kiir (round one, pick 15), Jahvon Blair (round two, pick 44) and Dazon Ingram (round three, pick 73) in the 2022 NBA G League Draft earlier today. Kiir becomes the first Basketball Africa League (BAL) player taken in an NBA G League Draft.
Kiir, 6’9 218, paced the Cobra Sport of the BAL with 18.8 points and led the BAL with 11.2 rebounds through five games last season. Through 29.4 minutes per game, he also registered 2.2 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 steals. The forward’s professional debut came on April 9, 2022, and in double-double fashion with 18 points and 22 rebounds against Zamalek Basketball Club. His rebounding effort set a league record. Born January 1, 1998, Kiir is a South Sudan native and competed collegiately at LSU (2017-18), South Florida (2018-19), New Mexico State (2019-21) and Central Baptist College (2021-22).
Blair, 6’4 190, appeared with the New York Knicks in 2022 NBA Summer League. The guard played collegiately at Georgetown, becoming the first commitment during the tenue of head coach Patrick Ewing. He was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team in 2018 and declared for the 2021 NBA Draft after his senior season. After going undrafted, he signed his first professional contract with G.S. Lavrio B.C. of the Greek Basket League and Basketball Champions League on August 23, 2021. He later signed with KTP Basket of the Korisliiga on January 16, 2022. Born on March 27, 1998, in Oakville, Ontario, he represented Canada at the 2016 FIBA Under-18 Americas Championship averaging 6.8 points and contributing to the team’s silver medal.
Ingram, 6’6 205, comes to Westchester by the way of the Maine Celtics. Last season, Ingram appeared in three regular season games averaging 3.3 points on 71.4-percent, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Born March 12, 1997, in Theodore, Alabama, Ingram played collegiately at Central Florida (2019-20) and Alabama (2015-19). In those five years, the guard averaged 8.9 points on 46-percent, 5.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists through 137 games (119 starts).
The Westchester Knicks open Training Camp Monday, October 24. The Knicks tip off on Friday, November 4 at Maine to open the 2022-23 season.
