November 1, 2022 – Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) – Connecticut Sun News Release
Uncasville, CT – Today, the Connecticut Sun announced its month-long partnership with Connecticut Foodshare. Fans can purchase 2023 Flex Tickets and the Connecticut Sun will donate meals to Connecticut Foodshare for every package purchased.
Connecticut Foodshare, a member of the national Feeding America network, is a non-profit food bank that serves the state of Connecticut with the mission of providing nutritious food to people in need. The food bank partners with food retailers, growers, financial donors, and volunteers to source food and distribute it through a network of 700 community-based hunger relief programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, while working toward long-term solutions to food insecurity.
Throughout the month of November, the Connecticut Sun is providing fans and community members the opportunity to donate to the Connecticut Foodshare through the purchase of a four-ticket flex plan for the 2023 season. Fans who wish to participate will be able to select tickets to four games of their choosing and will automatically be donating up to 40 meals to Connecticut’s local community, using this link. The Connecticut Sun’s goal is to donate 2,500 meals by December 1st.
“We are very grateful to be able to contribute to the wonderful work that Connecticut Foodshare is doing, especially around the time of year where food, community and gratitude are at the forefront of everyone’s minds as we move into the Thanksgiving holiday. Food insecurity has been and will continue to be an issue deeply important to our organization, and continuing to work with organizations like Connecticut Foodshare will help the Connecticut Sun pursue our goals of positively impacting as many of our community members as we possibly can.” – Morgan Tuck, Connecticut Sun Director of Franchise Development
