Skyforce Announces Coaching Staff for Upcoming Season
September 27, 2022 – NBA G League (G League) – Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, SD – The Miami HEAT and Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today the hiring of Ronald Allen as Assistant Coach on Head Coach Kasib Powell’s staff for the 2022-23 season. The team also announced Therian Williams and Nate Wilson will return to their roles as Assistant Coach and Assistant Coach/Video Coordinator. Additionally, Nick Robinson has been named Director of Basketball Operations.

Allen joins the Skyforce after spending two seasons with the Salt Lake City Stars as an Assistant Coach. Prior to his time with the Stars, he spent two seasons as the Head Coach of the Inglewood (CA) High School boys’ basketball program. Allen played in the NBA G League for four seasons before he started coaching and played his rookie year with the Skyforce in 2007-08, where he was teammates with Powell. The Los Angeles, CA native played four years of collegiate basketball, with the final two at the University of Cincinnati under Mick Cronin.
Williams returns for his second season with the Skyforce as an Assistant Coach under Powell. Prior to joining Sioux Falls, he spent five seasons with the Atlanta Hawks and College Park Skyhawks. He worked his way up from a seasonal intern to Assistant Video Coordinator and Player Development Assistant with the Hawks, to being assigned as an Assistant Coach with the Skyhawks. The Antioch, CA native is an alumnus of St. Mary’s College, where he worked in numerous roles prior to making the jump to professional basketball.
Wilson enters his ninth overall season with the Skyforce and second as Assistant Coach/Video Coordinator. He joined the organization in 2013 and has served the Skyforce in numerous roles, from Basketball Operations Intern to Video Coordinator in 2019-20. The Sioux Falls, SD native is a graduate of South Dakota State University, and spent time coaching AAU and in the National Basketball League of America prior to being hired by the Skyforce.
Robinson joins Powell’s staff after assisting with Basketball Operations last season, in addition to serving as the Director of Sports Media Relations for the Skyforce. The Yankton, SD native and University of South Dakota alumnus spent two seasons as a Sports Media Relations Intern before being hired full-time ahead of last season.
