Candace Parker Named to 2022 All-WNBA First Team

The Chicago Sky’s Candace Parker was named to the 2022 All-WNBA First Team, announced today during the “WNBA Countdown presented by Google ” pregame show on ESPNews ahead of Game 3 of the WNBA Finals.
This is Parker’s seventh time being named to the All-WNBA First Team, previously being named in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2020. She was named to the All-WNBA Second Team in 2009, 2015, and 2018. In the 15th season of her professional career, Parker averaged 13.2 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game and 4.5 assists per game over 28.2 minutes during the 2022 regular season. During the 2022 postseason, she averaged 14.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 4.6 apg and 2.6 bpg over 29,4 minutes. Parker is a seven-time All-Star and was the 2013 All-Star MVP. She was named two-time league Most Valuable Player Award (2008, 2013) and is a 2x WNBA Champion (2016, 2021). Earlier last month, she was named to the 2022 AP All-WNBA First Team.
Over her career, Parker ranks No. 2 overall points during the playoffs with 1,149, behind Diana Taurasi at 1,455 points. Parker currently ranks No. 1 all-time in playoff total rebounds with 610, No. 1 all-time in playoff defensive rebounds with 485, No. 2 in all-time regular season defensive rebounds at 2,765 behind Sylvia Fowles at 2,874, No. 2 in all-time playoff steals with 108 and No. 2 in all-time playoff blocks at 117.
Parker holds the No. 2 spot for all-time double-doubles recorded with 182, behind Fowles at 215, and is currently tied for No. 1 for all-time postseason double-doubles with Tamika Catchings at 27. She is also tied with Sabrina Ionescu for all-time triple-doubles at three. Parker is one of two players in WNBA history to record two triple-doubles in the same season.
