Greensboro Swarm Complete Trade with Salt Lake City Stars

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) – The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights to shooting guard Carsen Edwards and forward Yoeli Childs from the Salt Lake City Stars in exchange for the returning player rights to forward Chudier Bile and power forward Tyler Cook.


Edwards, 24, was selected with the 33rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics prior to being moved to the Maine Celtics, Boston’s G League affiliate, in 2020. He was acquired by the Stars in 2021 and became the G League’s second-leading scorer, averaging 26.7 points per game. Edwards did work his way back to the NBA to play briefly with the Detroit Pistons for the 2021-22 season. Most recently, Edwards played for the Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Childs, 24, went undrafted in 2020 after playing for BYU where he played 119 games and averaged 17.1 points. While with the Stars, he played in 23 games averaging 15.5 points over 29.8 minutes. Childs also spent time overseas playing for the Hamburg Towers where he averaged 14.3 points.

Bile, 24, split his college playing time between Northwestern State and Georgetown. While playing at Northwestern State, he played in 28 games and averaged 14.3 points. Then as a Hoya, Bile played in 25 games, averaged 10.2 points earning a career high 19 points against Creighton in March of 2021. Bile played four games with the Greensboro Swarm last season.

Cook, 24, has played in 65 career NBA games over the last three seasons after going undrafted following a four-year career at the University of Iowa, including 20 games last season as a two-way player with the Chicago Bulls. The 6-8 forward earned Third Team All-NBA G League honors while playing for the Iowa Wolves during the 2021 G League single-site. Cook rights were obtained by the Swarm in mid-September.
