Toronto Arrows Announce Return of Scrum-Half Brown

November 1, 2022 – Major League Rugby (MLR)Toronto Arrows News Release

TORONTO, ON – The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce that scrum-half Cole Brown has re-signed with the club for the 2023 Major League Rugby season.

Brown, 22, is returning to the Arrows for a second campaign after debuting for the club last season.

“It’s a dream come true to represent my home team at a professional level,” said Brown. “From a team perspective, the organization has made some exciting new signings and I know everyone is ready to get started.”

“Injuries unfortunately hindered my first year with the team, however I was still able to learn a lot from being in the club environment. I’m hoping to build off that experience and hit the ground running in 2023.”

The five-foot-eleven, 190-pound halfback was forced to miss the majority of the 2022 season while recovering from a pair of foot injuries; after returning to full fitness following the first knock, he started a match – and scored a memorable try on his debut – mid-way through the campaign, but cruelly suffered a second injury later that game that would keep him out for the remainder of the year.

Brown was one of two members of the inaugural class of Arrows Senior Academy athletes from 2020 to feature for the senior team in 2022, joining fellow Academy graduate Mitch Voralek in earning MLR game time.

The native of Pickering, Ont. represented Canada on the national under-20 side’s tour to Portugal in 2020, and later participated in Rugby Canada’s under-20 camp following the 2021 MLR season.

Arrow #78 is a graduate of the Ontario Blues junior men’s provincial program and played his grassroots rugby with the Ajax Wanderers. He is currently a member of the McMaster Marauders post-secondary program, earning OUA All-Star honours in 2021.

“Cole really impressed through the Rugby Rally and last season’s training camp,” said Mark Winokur, Toronto Arrows Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. “We’re looking forward to seeing him healthy and pushing for a bigger role this season.”

The club will be making additional signing announcements in the coming weeks as 2023 season preparations continue to build.

The window to place a deposit to secure 2023 season memberships for the lowest possible price is now open. Earlybird pricing packages for the club’s home matches at York Lions Stadium start at just $70 for a limited time only.
