HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – The Halifax Thunderbirds today have announced the addition of Maki Jenner to the organization as Communications Manager.

“We are excited to welcome Maki to our Thunderbirds family,” said Thunderbirds President &CEO, John Catalano. “Her knowledge and passion for the sport makes her the perfect addition to our organization.”

Jenner joins the Thunderbirds after spending the 2021-22 season with the New York Riptide and NLL on TSN.

The Victoria, British Columbia native made her debut with TSN last season, joining the broadcast with her “Lax Facts” segments during the TSN Game of the Week.

Jenner attended the University of Denver before transferring to Concordia University St. Paul to continue a major in Sports Communication, along with a minor in journalism. She played for both programs as a defender.

In addition to her prior experience working in the National Lacrosse League, Jenner also took on roles with the Western Lacrosse Association and the WLA’s Victoria Shamrocks, serving as a Social Media Coordinator and Media and Communications Manager, respectively.

She has spent her whole life in the game of lacrosse as her father, Fredi, and uncle, Teddy, both spent time playing in the NLL.

“Growing up watching my dad play in the NLL and now having the opportunity to work in the league is a dream come true,” Jenner said. “I am so thankful for this opportunity to work for such a professional and welcoming organization like the Halifax Thunderbirds.”
