Storm Set for Rematch with Force

FARGO, ND. -The Tri-City Storm is set for tonight’s rematch with the Fargo Force following last night’s thrilling 5-4 victory. Puck drop for tonight’s Storm road game is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.

Tri-City (5-5-0-0) returns to action tonight after posting a road victory last night over Fargo. Ryan Smith notched his second goal of the season in the opening five minutes of Thursday’s battle to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. After surrendering back-to-back goals in the final fourteen minutes of the 1st period, Tri-City regained the lead following goals from Kieran Cebrian and Artemi Nizameyev in the 2nd period. The Storm allowed the game-tying goal just over three minutes into the 3rd period, but the team responded with consecutive goals scored by Kieran Cebrian. Cebrian’s hat trick was the first of his USHL career. Scoring leaders for the Storm through the opening ten games of the 2022-2023 regular season include Kieran Cebrian (7), Graham Gamache (4), Sebastian Törnqvist (3), Cameron O’Neill (2), Tanner Adams (2), Trevor Connelly (2), Nick Roukounakis (2), Dane Dowiak (2), and Ryan Smith (2). The Storm will travel to Young Arena for back-to-back games against the Waterloo Black Hawks next week.


Fargo (6-3-0-1) dropped a game to the Storm for the first time this season in last night’s home loss. Bret Link (2), Anthony Menghini, and Mac Swanson netted goals for the Force in the loss. Fargo finished last night’s game 1/6 on the powerplay. The Force successfully killed 1/3 powerplay chances for the Storm during the game. Fargo dropped to 9-15-1-0 in head-to-head matchups against Tri-City over the last five seasons in last night’s home loss. The Force won two of eight games played against the Storm last season, and last night’s result evened this year’s season series at 1-1-0-0. The Storm and the Force will battle five additional times this season after tonight’s matchup at Scheels Arena. Two of the games will be played at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas in the 2023 edition of the USHL Frosty Cup. The Force will visit the Viaero Center for three consecutive games against the Storm in 2023 on Friday, March 24th, Saturday, March 25th, and Sunday, March 26th to complete this year’s eight-game season series. Scoring leaders for Fargo through the first ten games of the season include Cole Knuble (6), Anthony Menghini (6), Verner Miettinen (5), Bret Link (3), and Charlie Russell (3). After tonight’s home game against the Storm at Scheels Arena, Fargo will return to action next weekend with three consecutive road games. The Force will face the Des Moines Buccaneers at Buccaneer Arena on Friday, November 11th. Fargo will complete the road trip with consecutive games against the Omaha Lancers at Liberty First Credit Union Arena on Saturday, November 12th, and Sunday, November 13th.
