Saginaw, Mich. – The Saginaw Spirit (5-4-1-0) hosts their in-state rivals the Flint Firebirds (5-5-0-0) at the Dow Event Center Wednesday, October 26, in Riverfront Saginaw, Michigan. Tonight, marks the first of meetings between the two teams playing for the Coors Light I-75 Divide Cup trophy for the seventh time. Both teams have won the trophy three times since its inception in 2015.

The Spirit and Firebirds have yet to meet this season but did meet 15 times last year. Flint won nine of the meetings to capture the I-75 Divide Cup for the first time since the 2016-17 season.

Michael Misa scored twice in back-to-back games and has five goals in the past three games. Misa is tied for the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) lead in goals (8) as well as for the Spirit. Anaheim Ducks Prospect Pavel Mintyukov leads the Spirit with 15 points. Calem Mangone and Mintyukov are tied for the lead in assists with 10. New York Islanders prospect Tristan Lennox leads the team with 3.47 Goals Against Average (GAA) and a .875 save percentage (SV%).

Brennan Othman leads the team with 17 points. He is tied for the OHL lead in goals (8). Dmitry Kuzmin and Othman are tied for the team lead in assists with nine. Boe Piroski leads the team with 3.00 GAA and a .909 SV%.

The Spirit have four (4) players drafted into the National Hockey League (NHL) including Pavel Mintyukov (Anaheim), Matyas Sapovaliv (Vegas), Josh Bloom (Buffalo), and Tristan Lennox (New York Islanders).

The Firebirds have five (5) players drafted into the National Hockey League (NHL) including Dmitry Kuzmin (Winnipeg), Gavin Hayes (Chicago), Will Cranley (St. Louis), and Amadeus Lombardi (Detroit). Braeden Kressler (Toronto) was signed as a free agent.
