Safetynet Children & Youth Charities: November 12th

Safetynet Children & Youth Charities was founded by Bill Shields in 2007 and services families with clothing, household items, and extra-curricular activities. They rely on community donations to provide free items and services to financially disadvantaged families. Fans will be able to donate new and gently used clothing and volunteers from Safetynet will be on site to collect monetary donations and provide more information to fans about their charity. Items that are most in need are men’s, women’s, and children’s regular and thermal underwear, socks, winter coats and boots, and seasonal (winter) clothing. Fans are asked to bring items in a large reusable cloth bag (or a garbage bag). For more information on Safetynet Children & Youth Charities, please visit https://www.safetynetservices.ca/.

Food4Kids: November 19th

The Food4Kids program launched in Hamilton, Ontario, and extended into Halton in 2013. The program is for participants 3-14 years old, attending elementary school in Halton. Children are referred to Food4Kids by schools aware of families with limited access to food in their homes. The program aims to be discreet and non-stigmatizing for the children and families participating. Because of the specific nature of Food4Kids Halton, we ask that fans donate nut free granola bars and regular sized cans of condensed soup (chicken noodle, tomato, and vegetable). Volunteers will also be onsite to collect monetary donations and provide more information to fans. For more information, please visit https://www.food4kidshalton.ca/.

Oakville Fire Toy Drive: November 26th

The Oakville Professional Firefighters Association Toy Drive has been an annual tradition since 1992 and once again will have a presence at our pre-season games! All toys and donations collected are donated to local charities and agencies, where they are then distributed to families in need. While all donations are appreciated, the area of greatest need are gifts for youth ages 11 to 15. Fans are asked to donate new and unwrapped toys to support the Toy Drive, and volunteers will be on site to collect monetary donations.
