September 12, 2022 – North American Hockey League (NAHL) News Release

DALLAS, TEXAS – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced that True Temper Hockey (TRUE) has been named as the new official Goaltending Equipment Partner to the NAHL. TRUE will also serve as the Preferred Goaltending Equipment Supplier of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) and the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL).

As part of the new three-year agreement, TRUE will become the exclusive provider of goalie sticks to the NAHL beginning in the 2023-24 season and will have the ability to promote, sell and outfit its full line of products that include leg pads, catching/blocker gloves, along with its full selection of accessory items to all NAHL, NA3HL and NAPHL member teams and goaltenders.

“We are excited about this new partnership with TRUE who are rapidly becoming one of the industry leaders in goaltending equipment,” said NAHL Commissioner and President Mark Frankenfeld. “This partnership is a continuing commitment by the league and our owners to provide our goalies with the best equipment possible to maximize their performance. With their proven track record of NHL clients along with their commitment to quality and service, we believe TRUE is a great fit and partner for the next generations of goalies coming through our family of leagues.”

For over 100 years, True Temper Sports has shown its commitment to bringing transformational technologies to market with an unwavering determination to be #1 in everything that we do. It’s a legacy built by artisans and craftsmen passing down time honored traditions, years in the workshop, and expertise that you can’t learn in a book. Our hammers and sweat and effort represent pure love for the game.

“We are thrilled to partner with the NAHL which has emerged as one of the premier Junior Hockey leagues in North America since its inception in 1975. The NAHL has a proven track record of producing NCAA, Minor Pro and NHL goaltenders and will be an important partner for our business moving forward as we continue to build our funnel of elite goaltenders that will lead the next generation for TRUE Hockey in the goaltending segment. We look forward to working closely with the teams and league executives over the next three years to provide a first-class experience to goalies across the NAHL, NA3HL and NAPHL,” said Senior Global Director of Sales and Marketing at TRUE, Dave McNally.

The list of goalies in the NHL who use TRUE reads like a who’s who in the hockey industry and includes such names as: NAHL grad and Vezina Trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg Jets), Marc-Andre Fleury (Minnesota Wild), Jordan Binnington (St. Louis Blues), and Frederik Andersen (Carolina Hurricanes). TRUE is expected to start the 2022-2023 NHL season with 39 goaltenders in their equipment.

As part of the agreement, TRUE will be the title sponsor the NAHL and NA3HL Goaltender of the Month and Goaltender of the Year awards, as well as the NAPHL Goaltender of the Year awards.
