Knighthawks Re-Sign Hoggarth, Evans to Two-Year Contracts

(Rochester, NY) – Rochester Knighthawks General Manager and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations Dan Carey announced today that the team has re-signed forwards Thomas Hoggarth and Turner Evans to two-year contracts, pending league approval.


Hoggarth, 26, finished third among all Knighthawks in goals (25) and seventh in points (40) as he appeared in 16 games with Rochester during the 2021-22 season. Additionally, he ranked fifth in loose balls recoveries (80) and shots on goal (82).

Prior to missing the entire 2019-20 campaign due to an injury and the following season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hoggarth posted a banner year in 2018-19 that saw him produce career-highs in goals (29), assists (32) and points (61) in 17 games with the Buffalo Bandits. He finished the season third on the team in goals and fourth in points before adding three assists in two postseason appearance while helping Buffalo advance to the NLL Finals.

A native of Lakefield, Ontario, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward has totaled 117 points on 65 goals and 52 assists in 68 career NLL games with Rochester, Buffalo, and Vancouver.

Evans returns for his third season with the Knighthawks after establishing
career-highs in both goals (14) and points (46) in 15 games with Rochester during the 2021-22 campaign.

The 28-year-old completed his fifth campaign in the NLL last year and ranked fifth in goals, assists and points while tying for second on the team with four power-play goals.

Originally a second-round selection of the Toronto Rock (10th overall) in the 2015 NLL Entry Draft, the Peterborough, Ontario, native has amassed 191 points (65+126) in 71 career NLL games with Rochester, Toronto and San Diego.

Evans played his collegiate lacrosse at Ohio State University, where he was a four-time Scholar-Athlete and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. As a junior in 2014, he was named a First Team All-ECAC selection before receiving USILA All-American honors the following year. In 59 games for the Buckeyes, Evans tallied 97 points on 54 goals and 43 assists.

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound forward is also a three-time Mann Cup champion with his hometown Peterborough Lakers, winning titles in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
