August 31, 2022 – Major League Soccer (MLS)San Jose Earthquakes News Release

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has hired Jordan Stewart as an assistant coach for the Quakes Academy. Stewart made more than 400 professional appearances in England and the United States, including 69 appearances in the English Premier League and 71 MLS appearances for San Jose between 2013-16.

“Jordan will be a strong addition in an important area of the club,” said Earthquakes General Manager Chris Leitch. “He was an accomplished player that understands how to be a professional at the highest level and the experience he’ll be able to impart into our youth players will be invaluable as they climb the ranks. Adding someone of Jordan’s pedigree is another example of our continued investment into player development.”

During his lengthy playing career in his native England, Stewart competed in the Premier League with both Leicester City and Watford and represented the England National Team at the U21 level. He then signed with the Earthquakes in the summer of 2013 before finishing his career with Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship.

“I’m very happy to be returning to San Jose and working with many familiar faces,” said Stewart. “I’m looking forward to beginning my coaching journey and learning from many knowledgeable and motivated individuals. I’d like to thank Chris Leitch and Alex Saunders for giving me the opportunity to positively impact the next generation of players in the Quakes Academy.”
