Wingrove, Glogoski Lead Claws to 4-1 Win over Aberdeen on Thursday

JERSEY SHORE, NJ – Rixon Wingrove hit two home runs and drove in four runs while Kyle Glogoski threw seven scoreless innings and Jersey Shore topped Aberdeen 4-1 on Thursday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.


Glogoski’s (2-6) seven scoreless innings were his longest outing of the year. The right-hander from New Zealand gave up two hits and struck out five.

The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the fourth on a two-run home run from Wingrove. He added another home run in the bottom of the eighth to make it 4-0.

Wingrove now has 12 home runs on the season. This was the fifth multi-home run game by a BlueClaw this year.

Erubiel Armenta threw a scoreless eighth and Rodolfo Sanchez gave up one run in the ninth. Jersey Shore pitchers have allowed two runs in 32 innings since Sunday’s win at Hudson Valley.

Hao Yu Lee, Kendall Simmons, and Wingrove all had two hits in the win for the BlueClaws.

Aberdeen starter Peter Van Loon gave up two runs, one earned, in four innings of work.

The teams continue their series on Friday night at 7:05 pm. LHP Jordi Martinez starts for Jersey Shore.
