Whitecaps FC to Host Youth Soccer Appreciation Match Presented by Bell at BC Place on Saturday

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC will be celebrating the club’s Youth Soccer Appreciation Match presented by Bell this coming Saturday, September 17 when the ‘Caps host Seattle Sounders FC at BC Place.

BELL SKILLS CAMP
Bell is providing 400 tickets to the match for Bell Skills Camp winners and Bell skill activation challenge winners from matches throughout the season on ‘Caps Kickoff. Bell is also providing tickets to a select number of youth coaches throughout the Lower Mainland.
‘CAPS KICKOFF + THE WARMUP
‘Caps Kickoff on Terry Fox Plaza will feature face painting and a live music DJ presented by Bell.
The Warmup will also be open for all ages, with the first 100 adults receiving a free Asahi Super Dry beer.
OPENING PROCESSION
The opening procession will feature more than 70 participants from Vancouver United FC and Coastal FC.
100v2 PRESENTED BY BELL
Halftime will feature a 100 vs. 2 challenge where 100 youth soccer players take on Whitecaps FC 2 pros Ali Ahmed and Elage Bah.
The 100 youth players are participating from Bell Skills Camps across the Lower Mainland and including players from North Vancouver FC, Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC, Surrey United SC, Surrey FC, and more.
50 PER CENT OFF ALL DRINKS
Youth at Saturday’s match will be able to enjoy 50 per cent off all drinks up until kickoff.
For adults, alcoholic beverages will also be featured in the 50 percent off deal until kickoff.

VANCOUVER ALBION
Vancouver Albion, the first officially recognized all-youth supporters group in MLS, will be featured on the videoboard. The group provides a platform for youth to enjoy MLS and to integrate themselves into the supporters section at BC Place.
Albion started with under 10 members and has expanded to over 90 members in the last year.
ANTHEM SINGER
Saturday’s national anthems will be sung by 15-year-old Ema Lake.
Lake will be making her Whitecaps FC debut at BC Place after her incredible performance at Whitecaps FC 2 matches this season.
JR. PA ANNOUNCER
Whitecaps FC PA announcer Don Andrews will be joined by his daughter, Olivia Andrews, as a special Junior PA Announcer for a very special moment at the match as she helps announce the starting lineups.
KID CAPTAIN
Saturday’s Kid Captain will be Rylie Nicholls.
Nicholls was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma just before her third birthday in July last year. Since then, she has gone through intense treatments including chemotherapy, contrast radiation therapy, surgeries, bone marrow transplants, radiation, and immunotherapy. She will remain in treatment until January 2023. Though high-risk neuroblstoma is a serious illness, Nicholls is getting the best possible care at BC Children’s Hospital.
