Tri-City Set for Preseason Battle with Fargo

SIOUX CITY, IA. – The Tri-City Storm is set to battle the Fargo Force this afternoon at the Tyson Events Center. The game will be the Storm’s final matchup in this year’s USHL West Preseason Showcase event hosted by the Sioux City Musketeers. Tri-City is 2-0-0-0 in the event after posting victories over the Waterloo Black Hawks and Des Moines Buccaneers. Puck drop for today’s game between the Storm and the Force is scheduled for 1:00pm CT.
Tri-City (2-0-0-0) looks to win three consecutive games to begin preseason play in today’s matchup with the Fargo Force. The Storm posted a 4-2 win yesterday afternoon over the Des Moines Buccaneers. Cameron O’Neill netted a hat trick, and Brock James also scored in the game for Tri-City. Scoring leaders for the Storm through the opening two games of the exhibition schedule include Cameron O’Neill (3), Daimon Gardner (2), Sebastian Törnqvist (1), David Sacco (1), Phillippe Blais-Savoie (1), Brock James (1), and Nick Roukounakis (1). Karlis Mezsargs and Sebastian Wraneschitz have each collected a win in goal for Tri-City to this point in the exhibition schedule. The Storm will complete play in the 2022-2023 preseason next week with road games against the Lincoln Stars and Omaha Lancers.
Fargo (1-0-0-0) defeated the Waterloo Black Hawks yesterday by a final score of 3-1 to open preseason play with a victory. The Force also participated in a scrimmage with the Sioux Falls Stampede earlier in the week. J.P. Turner, Bret Link, and German Yavash each netted a goal in Fargo’s two-goal victory over Waterloo at the Tyson Events Center yesterday. Goaltenders Nolan Suggs and Anton Castro split time in goal for the Force. Nolan Suggs collected the win in net after denying all 16 shots faced from Waterloo. The Force will play host to the Stampede one week from tonight at Scheels Arena in an additional preseason contest following this afternoon’s game against the Storm.
