October 6, 2022 – Ontario Hockey League (OHL)Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. Hamilton Bulldogs President & General Manager Steve Staios and the
Edmonton Oilers have announced that the architect of two OHL Championships will join the
franchise as Special Advisor to Hockey Operations of the Edmonton Oilers.

Hired by Hamilton Bulldogs Owner Michael Andlauer in 2015 as President of the team following
three seasons as Manager of Player of Development with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Staios
added the General Manager role prior to the 2016-17 season and has led the Bulldogs to
unparalleled success since. Under
Staios’ leadership the Bulldogs made the playoffs in every
season, winning the 2018 & 2022 OHL Championships.

Away from the ice, Staios has built the organization around him in the image he envisioned in
2015. Based around respect, inclusivity, and commitment to the community the Bulldogs have
forged strong relationships across the board in the Hamilton community thanks to
Staios’
leadership.

In joining the Oilers, Staios returns to the franchise where he spent 8 seasons, played in 573
games and went to the Stanley Cup Final in 2006 as a player.

Steve Staios on his time with the Hamilton Bulldogs; “I extremely grateful for the opportunity to
have been the President and GM of the Hamilton Bulldogs. With a shared vision with Michael
Andlauer, I am proud to say that we have exemplified a ‘Best in Class’ organization and brought
2 OHL Championships to Hamilton. I want to thank everyone who has been involved in the
Bulldogs family over this time including Coaches, Trainers, Scouts, Front office, billets, fans and
most importantly the Players who have made us so proud.”

Hamilton Bulldogs Owner Michael Andlauer on the announcement and Steve Staios; “I am
incredibly proud of Steve and forever grateful for everything he has done both on and off the ice
for our City and our fans. I have no doubt in my mind that his experience and success over the
past seven years with the Bulldogs will make him an equally successful executive at the NHL
level.
On behalf of the whole Bulldogs organization, we wish Steve all the best in his next step of an
incredible hockey career.”
