September 19, 2022 – United States Hockey League (USHL)Lincoln Stars News Release

Lincoln Stars head coach Rocky Russo announced on Monday the Stars roster to begin the 2022-23 season.

Lincoln returns 14 players who suited up last season. The Stars also feature three players selected in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and 17 Division-I college commits. The roster is comprised of 14 forwards, 10 defensemen and two goaltenders.

Forwards Mason Marcellus, Doug Grimes, Keaton Peters, Patrick Raftery, Dashel Oliver, Brennan Ali, Jack Larrigan, Tanner Ludtke and Wyatt Olson return to the Stars up front. Carter Davis, Antonio Fernandez, Marian Mosko and Henry Nelson bolster the blue line and netminder Cameron Whitehead is back between the pipes.

“We had some difficult decisions to make,” Russo said. “We had to let go of some tremendously good hockey players. That’s a sign that we have a deep group and a group that we feel can be competitive off the hop.”

The Stars open up the season this Thursday with the Dicks Sporting Goods Fall Classic at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pa. Lincoln will face the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at 2:30 p.m. EST on Thursday and then the Green Bay Gamblers on Friday at 12 p.m. EST.
