Saginaw, Mich. – The Saginaw Spirit (2-2-0-0) continue their home stand as they play the Sudbury Wolves (2-2-0-0) Sunday, October 9, 2022 at The Dow Event Center in Riverfront Saginaw, Michigan.

The Spirit played Saturday, October 9 and lost to the Windsor Spitfires 5-4. Vegas Golden Knights prospect Matyas Sapovaliv scored two goals and an assist in the loss. New York Islanders prospect Matthew Maggio scored in his return to the Spitfires lineup.
The Wolves faced off against the Flint Firebirds and won 4-2. 2023 NHL Draft eligible Quentin Musty had four points for the Wolves in the win.
Head-To-Head Matchup:
Saginaw and Sudbury meet for the first time this season after nearly two years between games. The last meeting took place on Feb. 21, 2020, 10-6 victory for the Spirit at the Sudbury Community Arena. Saginaw has had more success all-time against Sudbury than any other opponent, posting a .706 winning percentage (24-8-1-1)
Players To Watch:
Pavel Mintyukov and Dean Loukus share the team lead in points (9) with Mintyukov having three goals and six assists and Loukus having one goal and eight assists. Matyas Sapovaliv leads the Spirit in goals with five. Brett Fullerton leads the team with 5.17 goals against average (GAA) and a .853 save percentage (SV%).
David Goyette and Kocha Delic share the lead for points with eight. Goyette leads goals with four and Delic leads assists with five. Joe Ranger leads Sudbury with 3.31 GAA and a .913 SV%.
