Spirit Begin Home-And-Home Series with Knights Friday in London

London, Ont. – The Saginaw Spirit wrap up its four-game road trip against the London Knights Friday, October 21, at the Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario.

Last Time Out:

Saginaw won their first OT game 3-2 Friday, October 20, against the Windsor Spitfires. Tristan Lennox recorded a season-high 33 saves in the win.

London lost against the Owen Sound Attack 7-2 on Wednesday, October 19. Overage forward George Diaco scored his fourth goal of the season in the loss.

Last Season:

This is the first time the Spirit and the Knights face off this season. During the 2021-22 season, the Knights won three of the five meetings with the Spirit.

Saginaw and London meet for the 79th all-time regular season game Friday in London. The Spirit are 20-49-6-3 overall and 7-29-2-1 on the road.

Players to Watch:

Anaheim Ducks prospect Pavel Mintyukov is tied for the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) lead in points (14) and is tied for second in the league for assists (9). Joey Willis, Vegas Golden Knights prospect Matyas Sapovliv and Mintyukov are tied for the team lead in goals with five.

George Diaco and Sean McGurn share the lead for points with six. Diaco leads the Knights in goals with four and McGurn leads in assists. Zach Bowen leads the team with 3.51 GAA and a .875 SV%.

The Spirit have four (4) players drafted into the National Hockey League (NHL) including Pavel Mintyukov (Anaheim), Matyas Sapovaliv (Vegas), Josh Bloom (Buffalo), and Tristan Lennox (New York Islanders).

London has six (6) players drafted into the NHL including Logan Mailloux (Montreal), Max McCue (San Jose), Landon Sim (St Louis), Isaiah George (New York Islanders), Bryce Montgomery (Carolina), and Jackson Edward (Boston).
