Silvertips Waive Dylan Anderson in Compliance with Overager Limit

October 14, 2022 – Western Hockey League (WHL)Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips have waived ’02-born defenseman Dylan Anderson to meet the Western Hockey League’s overage player limit.

“Dylan was an absolute warrior for us since joining our team,” commented general manager/head coach Dennis Williams. “His commitment to our program was outstanding, and he was a true leader for our group on and off the ice. We’re incredibly thankful for everything he gave to our program over the years.”

Anderson, a Langley, B.C. native, was originally drafted 75th overall in the fourth round of the 2017 WHL Prospects Draft. Debuting on Jan. 7, 2018, Anderson would go on to play in 143 career games with the Silvertips. He logged five goals and 26 assists in that span, finishing as a +35 defensively. His best individual season came in 2021-22, where he recorded 20 points and a +19 rating in 62 games played.

Earlier in the 2022-23 campaign, the Silvertips traded Wright to the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for ’03-born forward Steel Quiring, a 2023 sixth-round pick and a 2024 third-round pick. Signed as a free agent prior to the 2019-20 season, Wright played in 141 career games with the Silvertips, netting 34 goals with 37 assists with a career +44 defensive rating. Wright set career-bests across the board in 2021-22, logging 22 goals with 25 assists and a +23 rating in 68 games played.

“We as an organization had to make some difficult decisions to get our roster where it needs to be,” Williams noted. “Dylan and Jacob, they’re great players but they’re even better people and unbelievable teammates. Every day they have embodied what it means to be a Silvertip with the way that they work and the way they carry themselves. Our program is better having had them in it, and we wish them nothing but the best in the next step of their hockey career.”

The Silvertips now have three overage players on their roster: Jackson Berezowski (RW), Ryan Hofer (C) and Aidan Sutter (D).
