– The New York Red Bulls (14-10-8, 50 pts.) fell to New York City FC (14-11-7, 49 pts.) 2-0 on Saturday, September 17, at Yankee Stadium.

– The home side struck in the opening minute of the match, as Maxi Moralez sent in a corner kick that was knocked into the air by Sebastian Rodríguez and then sent into the back of the net by Alexander Callens.


– NYCFC doubled their advantage in the 23rd minute, as Thiago Martins played a ball to Gabriel Pereira just outside of the box. Pereira immediately sent the ball back in where it was finished by Rodríguez.

– Following Saturday’s match, the FIFA international break will begin and run from September 19 to September 27. After the international break, New York will travel to Ohio to face Columbus Crew SC on Saturday, October 1.
