Rebels Drop Series Finale to Generals

SEWELL, NJ – The Philadelphia Rebels (3-6-0-0, 6 pts) fell to the Northeast Generals (7-5-0-0, 14 pts) 2-0 on Saturday night, dropping the second game of the weekend series.

The Rebels had five power-play chances in the contest, but were unable to convert on any of them.

The teams traded two power plays throughout the scoreless first period of the game.

Jakub Krbecek started in net for the Rebels, stopping 23 of 24 shots he faced, good for a .958 save percentage.

The Rebels’ penalty kill was strong, killing seven penalties and keeping the pressure off of Krbecek for the most part.

The Generals opened the scoring seven minutes into the third period with Andrew DellaDonna scoring on a two-on-none off the pass from Nick Ramm. Krbecek sprawled across the crease, but was not able to stop it from going in.

DellaDonna’s marker was the only goal of the game until the Generals scored an empty-net goal with 38 seconds left.

Philadelphia’s nine shots in the first period were the most they posted in the game, finishing with 19.

The Rebels had a chance to even the score on the power play with just over eight minutes to play but were unable to get one past Cullen DeYoung.

DeYoung stopped all 19 shots he faced from Philadelphia.

Philadelphia returns to the ice Friday night in Johnstown with the puck drop at 7:30 p.m.
