THE GOALS
First Period
REG 1-0 at 2:32 – Tanner Howe (4), assisted by Stanislav Svozil and Connor Bedard (PP) // With an early powerplay, the Pats worked the puck around the Broncos zone where Svozil fed a pass to the left faceoff circle for Howe. Howe had time and ripped a laser to the top corner beating Reid Dyck to give the Pats a 1-0 lead early.
REG 2-0 at 15:33 – Alexander Suzdalev (4), assisted by Parker Berge and Sam Oremba // The Pats were working the puck around the Broncos’ zone. Oremba picked up the puck and sent a pass to Berge at the point who let fly a wrist shot that was stopped by Dyck, but Suzdalev was standing at the top of the crease and jammed in his fourth of the season, giving the Pats a 2-0 lead late in the first period.
Second Period
REG 3-0 at 2:19 – Alexander Suzdalev (5), assisted by Stanislav Svozil and Connor Bedard (PP) // Svozil let a point blast go that was kicked out by the Bronco goalie, but the rebound went right to Suzdalev who tucked a backhand past Dyck to extend the Pats lead to 3-0.
REG 4-0 at 10:44 – Connor Bedard (7), assisted by Borya Valis and Tanner Howe // The Pats broke in on an offensive rush. Valis and Bedard worked a give-and-go with Bedard giving the Pats a 4-0 lead.
SC 4-1 at 13:20 – Mathew Ward (1), assisted by Grayson Burzynski // Burzynski found Ward breaking in past the Pats defence where he had time and tucked the puck through Drew Sim’s five-hole to get the Broncos to within three at 4-1.
Third Period
SC 4-2 at 2:57 – Brady Birnie (1), assisted by Josh Davies and Owen Pickering (SH) // The Broncos take advantage of a lackadaisical Pats powerplay and broke into the Pats zone with numbers. Sim made a nice save on Davies but he had trouble with the rebound and Birnie buried the puck to cut the lead to 4-2.
SC 4-3 at 10:09 – Josh Filmon (2), assisted by Mathew Ward and Owen Pickering (PP) // Ward’s point shot was blacked in front but the puck deflected to Filmon who fired it past Sim to bring the Broncos to within a single tally, down 4-3 with a powerplay goal.
