Pats Head to Moose Jaw on Thursday

Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats head down the highway to take on the Moose Jaw Warriors today at 7:00 p.m. inside the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

The Regina Pats are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon at the Brandt Centre. The Pats trailed 3-0 after one, and were able to comeback in the third, scoring three unanswered goals in the opening eight minutes of the final frame to force extra time. In the shootout, Tyson Zimmer scored the winner on their fourth shooter.


The final shots were 24-22 for the Pats and 9-9 in the third. Cole Dubinsky, Luke Bateman and Tanner Howe scored for the Pats. Regina went 0-1 on the power play and 0-4 on the penalty kill. With the shootout loss, the winning-streak ends at three games, but the point-streak extends to four straight (3-0-0-1). The Pats are now 6-4-0-1 on the season.

On the other side, the Moose Jaw Warriors are 5-4-0-0 on the season with 10 points. They are coming off a 4-3 regulation victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday on home ice, snapping their two game losing-streak. The Warriors got goals from Eric Alarie, Ben Riche, Nathan Pilling and Atley Calvert in the win. The shots were even 34-34, with the Warriors going 2-3 on the power play and 3-4 on the penalty kill.

The Moose Jaw Warriors are coming off a season where they finished fourth in the Eastern Conference with 81 points, losing in the second round to the Winnipeg ICE in five games after sweeping the Saskatoon Blades in round one…2004 D Denton Mateychuk was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets 12th overall, while 2004 F Jagger Firkus was selected 35th overall by the Seattle Kraken in 2022.
