Orlando City B Drops 6-1 Decision to Philadelphia Union II

CHESTER, Pa. (Sept. 11, 2022) – Orlando City B (6-12-5, 25 points) was defeated 6-1 by the Philadelphia Union II (10-9-4, 37 points) on Sunday afternoon at Subaru Park. The match served as the final road game of the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro regular season for the Lions.
Midfielder Favian Loyola continued his hot streak finding the back of the net for Orlando. The goal served as his sixth goal of the season, all of which have come in his last 11 games. Loyola also just recently signed to an MLS NEXT Pro Contract on August 29th. The 17-year-old was also named to the MLS NEXT All-Star Game earlier this month, earning MVP honors in the match. Second-half substitute Tyler Prebenda picked up his first assist of the season on the Loyola strike.

The home side opened the scoring with Chris Donovan applying pressure to the Orlando City B goalkeeper and then getting a deflection on an attempted clearance that found its way into the back of the net.
22′ Chris Donovan – PHI 2, ORL 0
Donovan picked up his second after he pounced on a mistake from the Orlando backline and was able to complete the finish on the breakaway.
24′ Quinn Sullivan (Chris Donovan) – PHI 3, ORL 0
The Union quickly picked up their third goal with Donovan driving towards the goal and passing it to Quinn Sullivan who smashed the ball over the goal line.
25′ Quinn Sullivan (Nathan Harriel) – PHI 4, ORL 0
The flurry of goals continued as Nathan Harriel found Sullivan who rocketed the ball near post and found the back of the net.
46′ Jose Riasco (Maike Villero) – PHI 5, ORL 0
Philadelphia opened the second half scoring with Maike Villero finding Jose Riasco in the box who was able to place his shot past a diving Lion goalkeeper.
56′ Paxten Aaronson (Penalty Kick) – PHI 6, ORL 0
Paxten Aaronson added his name to the scoresheet after putting a penalty kick away into the left side of the goal.
69′ Favian Loyola (Tyler Prebenda) – PHI 6, ORL 1
The Lions got on the board thanks to Tyler Prebenda finding Favian Loyola who took a shot at goal which took a wicked deflection and found the back of the net.
Match Notes:
Favian Loyola recorded his sixth goal of the season, which is second-most on the team during the 2022 campaign.
Tyler Prebenda tallied his first assist of the season on the Loyola goal.
Midfielder Jared Romero made his MLS NEXT Pro debut with the start.
Head Coach Martín Perelman made five changes to his starting lineup from the team’s last match against New England Revolution II.
