One More Time: Le Rouge to Host The Miami FC in Regular Season Finale

DETROIT, Michigan – Le Rouge will be home this Saturday for their final regular season game of the year, hosting The Miami FC of the Eastern Conference. An important three points is on the line with Miami just sitting two points behind DCFC. This game will be played at 4:00pm at Keyworth Stadium and it will be streamed on TV20, FOX47, CW46, CW7, and ESPN+.


This will be their second meeting of the season, with game one ending in a 1-1 draw on May 18th. Forward Adonijah Reid of The Miami FC scored the equalizer in second half stoppage time, while forward Antoine Hoppenot scored in the first half for Detroit.

Just last week on October 5th, Detroit City travelled to Kentucky to take on Louisville City FC, which ended in a 2-1 loss. Detroit took the lead in the first half on a goal by forward Antoine Hoppenot, notching his 7th of the season. A nice through ball by defender Deklan Wynne to Hoppenot, earned him his 7th assist of the season. Then in the second half, Louisville answered with two goals of their own in less than five minutes of play. Louisville’s first goal was a long distance shot by forward Wilson Harris. The goal to take a 2-1 lead came off a corner kick, taken by forward Ray Serrano, that found defender Joshua Wynder, who was able to place a header in the back of the net.

Detroit now has a 14-12-7 record, which has them currently sitting in 5th place in the USL Championship Eastern Conference, 15 points off of 1st place Louisville City.

Forward Antoine Hoppenot scored his 7th goal of the season in the last game against his former club Louisville City FC. He sits 3rd on the team this season for goals scored. He leads the league with 11 assists this season and he is 3rd in the league with 75 chances created.

The Miami FC currently sit in 7th place in the Eastern Conference with 52 points, with a record of 14-10-9, just behind Detroit. Over their past five games, The Miami FC are 2-2-1. Their two wins came against New York Red Bulls II (7-1) and Memphis 901 FC (1-0). Their two draws were versus Atlanta United 2 (2-2) and Monterey Bay F.C. (0-0). Their lone loss came against the Las Vegas Lights FC (3-2).

Forward Kyle Murphy has 49 shots this season which ties him for 22nd place overall. His 10 goals on the year also have him tied for 24th place. Murphy leads his team with 23 shots on target and 119 aerial duels. He has played in 32 games this season and was named to the Team of the Week once this season for Week 22.

Midfielder Florian Valot has also played in 32 games this season, logging 2,551 minutes played. In league play, his eight assists have him tied for 8th place and his 54 chances created has him tied for 13th place. Valot has a passing accuracy of 80.3% and has tallied five goals this season. He was named to the Team of the Week twice this season for Weeks 11 and 20.

Defender Paco Craig leads his team with 106 clearances, 31 blocks and 81 aerial duels won. He has started in 24 of the 25 games he has played this season and has a passing accuracy of 82.2%. Craig also has 15 shots this season, including six on target. For week 20, Craig was also named to the Team of the Week.

City’s next game will be a playoff game, with more information coming at a later date once the regular season concludes.
