Oilers Football Adds Eric Sadler to Defense

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, announced on Friday the signing of defensive lineman Eric Sadler.

Sadler (28) played at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M during his freshman year. The Putnam City North High School product played in seven games, totaling 19 tackles and picking up two sacks. The former Golden Norseman took the field in 11 games as a sophomore, tallying 55 total tackles while posting 8.5 sacks. The defensive end forced two fumbles and had two pass breakups, finishing the season by earning a first-team All-Conference selection.


Upon his transfer to Division II Delta State University, the Oklahoma City native played four seasons with redshirt eligibility for the Statesman. The former Division II defensive end was named All-Gulf South Conference (Second Team) his junior year. Sadler compiled 65 total tackles in 26 games during his four seasons, with a season-high 27 tackles his junior year and a season-high 18 solo his senior year. The NJCAA transfer produced 14 sacks at Delta State, with 6.5 in his senior season.

Sadler signed with the Northern Arizona Wranglers and then the Frisco Fighters before the start of the 2022 season, playing one game for Frisco. Sadler was traded that same year to the Vegas Knight Hawks, where he rounded up 15.5 tackles, 13 of which were solo, in seven games. The former Knight Hawk finished the 2022 season with the Tuscon Sugar Skulls, playing two games and recording 2.5 tackles and one pass breakup.

With this announcement, the Oilers announced roster now includes James Summers(QB), Deonte Cruse(OL/DL), Maliek Stephens(RB), Dominic Logan(OL/DL), Christopher Ivy(OL), and Eric Sadler(DL).

The Oilers will begin their inaugural season in 2023.
