New York Red Bulls Mutually Agree to Terminate Loan of Defender Tom Edwards

HARRISON, N.J. – New York Red Bulls mutually agreed to terminate the loan of defender Tom Edwards, the club announced today.

Edwards, 23, joined the Red Bulls on loan from Stoke City in February. Over the last two seasons, the defender made 47 appearances and logged 3,618 minutes of action. Edwards tallied three assists in 44 starts for the club, with his last assist coming on May 7 against Portland Timbers.


“We would like to thank Tom for his time with the club,” Sporting Director Denis Hamlett said. “We wish him and his family all the best in the future – both on and off the pitch.”

New York will return to action on Saturday, September 3 at Red Bull Arena to face off against Eastern Conference leaders Philadelphia Union. Kickoff is set 7 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
