New England Revolution Announce Year-End Roster Moves

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Following the end of the 2022 Major League Soccer season, the New England Revolution exercised the contract options of nine players, bringing the club’s MLS roster to 24 players entering the 2022-23 MLS offseason.
The nine players who had their 2023 contract options exercised were D Jon Bell, GK Earl Edwards Jr., GK Jacob Jackson, D Henry Kessler, M Maciel, F Justin Rennicks, D Ben Reveno, M Damian Rivera, and D Ryan Spaulding.
The following 15 players entered the offseason with guaranteed contracts with New England for the 2023 season: F Jozy Altidore, M Esmir Bajraktarević, M Dylan Borrero, F Gustavo Bou, M Noel Buck, D Brandon Bye, D Andrew Farrell, M Carles Gil, D Omar Gonzalez, D DeJuan Jones, D/M Christian Makoun, M Tommy McNamara, GK Djordje Petrović, M Matt Polster, and F Giacomo Vrioni.
The Revolution did not exercise the contract options of four players: M Emmanuel Boateng, GK Clément Diop, M Wilfrid Kaptoum, and F Edward Kizza. Three additional players are out of contract with the club at the end of 2022: D A.J. DeLaGarza, M Nacho Gil, and GK Brad Knighton. The Revolution have until the MLS deadline of Nov. 14 to exercise or decline the option of F Ismael Tajouri-Shradi.
As a result of these moves, the Revolution enter the offseason with 24 players under guaranteed contracts for 2023, giving the club six open roster slots and three open International roster slots. The returning Revolution players will reconvene at the Socios.com Training Center in Foxborough on October 17 for two weeks of post-season training.
