Saginaw, Mich. – The Saginaw Spirit (7-5-1-0) won their second game in a row 3-2 against the Oshawa Generals (5-5-0-2) on Pink Out Night presented by Ascension St. Mary’s Sunday evening.

2022 OHL first-overall pick Michael Misa and 2023 NHL draft eligible Calem Mangone both scored one goal and one assist in the win.

Saginaw struck first with a goal scored by Michael Misa at 10:27 in the first frame. Olivier Savard passed the puck from the top right of the zone to Misa, who was waiting in front of the net for his 10th goal of the year. Calem Mangone gave the puck to Savard from behind the net on the right side to start the play.

Oshawa answered back with a goal of their own at 14:53 in the opening period. Beckett Sennecke scored his fifth of the season after Luca Marrelli shot the puck for a rebound off Oke. Blake Smith also assisted on the play.

The third period opened with equal amounts of offense, but Oshawa was able to score at 2:09. Jordyn Ertel tapped the puck home after Luke Torrance took a shot at Oke for a rebound.

Saginaw continued to apply pressure by having several long possessions as the period approached the 10-minute mark. With 10 minutes remaining in the final period, Saginaw still had a 3-2 lead and led in shots, 24-21.

Both teams tried to add to their goal totals with several shots each but were unable to as time wound down in the final period.
