Lipcius Doubles in Loss to Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY – The Toledo Mud Hens suffered a defeat to the Rochester Red Wings by a score of 17-0 on Thursday night.
Andre Lipcius tallied a double as his lone hit. Daz Cameron singled and walked twice. Jamie Westbrook singled and walked on his night. Jack Lopez singled for his sole hit on the evening.
Austin Bergner picked up the start for the Mud Hens, but fell into trouble early and didn’t get out of the 1st inning. Bergner went 0.2 inning, allowing three runs on three hits, two walks and two strikeouts. Shea Spitzbarth would follow, spanning 1.0 inning, surrendering three runs on three hits and two walks. Drew Carlton pitched 2.1 shutout innings, allowing one hit and two strikeouts. Cody Sedlock followed with a scoreless 1.0 inning recording one strikeout. Sam Howard came in and pitched 0.2 inning, allowing three runs on two hits, one walk and one strikeout. Angel De Jesus pitched 1.1 inning, allowing one run on one hit, that being a home run. Zac Houston faced five batters but could not record an out. Houston surrendered five runs on two hits and three walks. Chris Rabago would make his season debut on the mound, pitching 1.0 inning allowing two runs on three hits, one walk and one strikeout.
What’s Next – The Toledo Mud Hens will remain in Rochester for game four of the six game series, with first pitch coming at 7:05 pm EST on Friday, September 2, 2022.
