LAFC to Face Galaxy in Western Conference Semifinal Tomorrow, Thursday, October 20 at Banc of California Stadium

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) will host the Galaxy in the Western Conference Semifinal on Thursday, Oct. 20. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT at Banc of California Stadium. (TV: FS1, Fox Deportes; Radio: 710 AM ESPN / ESPN LA app and 980 AM La Mera Mera).
LAFC enter the 2022 Audi MLS Cup playoffs in the Western Conference semifinal after securing the 2022 Supporters Shield with the best regular season record (21-9-4, 67 points).
This will be the second-ever matchup between the crosstown rivals in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. In their first post-season meeting, the Black & Gold defeated the Galaxy 5-3 in the 2019 Western Conference Semifinals.
Tomorrow’s matchup will also feature the fourth meeting across all competitions between both clubs this season, with LAFC defeating the Galaxy 3-2 in their last match on July 8 at Banc of California Stadium.

Carlos Vela, Latif Blessing, and Eddie Segura are the three remaining LAFC players that faced Galaxy in the 2019 Western Conference semi-Final.
No player has scored more goals against a single opponent other than Carlos Vela against the Galaxy (10, tied with Raul Ruidiaz vs. Portland.
Cristian “Chicho” Arango and Kwadwo “Mahala” Opoku made appearances in all 34 2022 MLS regular season matches, bringing the total to seven players in LAFC history that have featured in severy match in a single season
The 21 wins earned under the direction of Head Coach Steve Cherundolo set a new MLS record for most wins by a first-year head coach, surpassing Bob Bradley (1998 Chicago Fire) and Thomas Rongen (1996 Tampa Bay Mutiny) who both won 20 games in his first season as an MLS head coach.
