Jonathan Filipe Makes USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 26

New York Red Bulls II forward Jonathan Filipe was named to the bench of the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 26.

Filipe started both matches for Red Bulls II, logging 90 minutes in each. He scored his first professional goal and recorded his first professional brace against Hartford Athletic on Wednesday, August 31.


He became the first New York player to record a brace since Jeremy Rafanello against Loudoun United FC on October 30, 2021.

In his first professional season, Filipe is tied for second on the team in appearances with 26. He has started 16 matches, logged 1,535 minutes, scored two goals, and tallied an assist.

This is the first time in his career that Filipe has been featured in the USL Championship Team of the Week.
