Jonathan Fauchon Named 2022-23 QMJHL Player of the Week for Week 2
October 3, 2022 – Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) News Release
Montreal, QC – The latest Player of the Week in the QMJHL is Blainville-Boisbriand Armada center Jonathan Fauchon. In a pair of road games, the 18-year-old from Levis, Quebec scored four times and added a pair of assists while the Armada won both contests.
On Saturday evening in Rimouski, Fauchon scored his first two goals of the season, both shorthanded, in the third period of a 5-0 Armada triumph over the Oceanic. Impressively, Fauchon, who ended the game with a +/- rating of +2, recorded just two shots on goal during the game. Both found the back of the net.
On Sunday afternoon, back in Rimouski, the third-year veteran scored twice and added a pair of assists, the first four-point outing in his QMJHL career, in a 5-2 victory over the Oceanic. Fauchon’s first goal of the day would prove to be the game-winner while his second was yet another shorthanded tally. He went on to be named the first star of the game.
Fauchon has registered at least one point in each of the regular season’s first four contests. His nine points give him an early lead in the league scoring race. Fauchon was drafted in the first round, tenth overall, by the Armada at the 2020 QMJHL Entry Draft.
