September 10, 2022 – Western Hockey League (WHL)Winnipeg Ice News Release

The Winnipeg ICE have reassigned forwards Ashton Brown and Daniel Morozov.

Brown, 15, from Sherwood Park, Alberta, played 34 games last season with the Sherwood Park Flyers of the U15 Alberta Elite Hockey League registering 49 points (14 goals and 35 assists) along with 20 penalty minutes.


The 5’8″, 158 pound forward was selected by the ICE in the fourth round, 88th overall in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

Morozov, 14, from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, played 29 games last season with the Burnaby Winter Club of the Canadian Sport School U15 Hockey League registering 42 points (17 goals and 25 assists) along with 14 penalty minutes.

Morozov registered an assist Friday during his preseason debut in Brandon.

The 5’8″, 139 pound forward was selected by the ICE in the fifth round, 92nd overall in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

The ICE also wish all the best to the following players who leave this week to attend NHL Training Camps: Conor Geekie, (Arizona), Carson Lambos (Minnesota), Connor McClennon (Colorado), Mikey Milne (Minnesota), Owen Pederson (Nashville), Matthew Savoie (Buffalo) and Ben Zloty (Arizona).

With the departure of the seven players heading to NHL camps and reassignment of Brown and Morozov the ICE will have four goaltenders, nine defencemen and 12 forwards available for the upcoming pre-season games vs the Regina Pats next week.

Winnipeg continues the WHL preseason schedule Thursday, September 15th in Regina before hosting the Pats Saturday, September 17th inside The RINK Training Centre at 7pm.
