ICE Training Camp Update
September 4, 2022 – Western Hockey League (WHL) – Winnipeg Ice News Release
After three full days of fitness testing and intra squad games, Winnipeg ICE Training Camp presented by Body Measure came to conclusion Sunday afternoon with Team Dawes beating Team Reinhart 5-4 in a shootout during the Championship game to win the Jarret Stoll Cup at The RINK Training Centre.
Owen Pederson scored the deciding goal in the third round of the skills competition.
Zach Benson added a pair of goals during regulation time for Team Dawes while singles came from Jaden Kokosha and Logan Murray.
Connor McClennon replied with two goals from Team Reinhart. Zach Burns and Connor Dale also found the back of the net.
McClennon and Benson finished the weekend leading all players in camp with six goals each.
ICE management will now set the roster for Monday night’s Showcase Game, 6:00 at The RINK Training Centre. Fans will have a chance to watch returning ICE players before they head to NHL Camps and get a look at top ICE prospects.
During tomorrow’s Showcase Game, those that attend and provide a monetary donation of any size to the ICE Education Fund will have a chance to win a signed Winnipeg ICE jersey, special pennants, Boston Pizza soft pucks & Winnipeg ICE mini sticks!
A special Autograph Alley will also be available after the game.
