Langley, BC – The Giants hosted the #1 team in the CHL tonight and a fantastic performance by Jesper Vikman kept the game close, but Winnipeg’s 48 shots were too much to handle.

1st Period:

WPG: Skyler Bruce opened the scoring 5:27 into the game to put the ICE ahead 1-0 following a great individual effort by Arizona Coyotes 1st Rounder Conor Geekie.


VAN: Mazden Leslie tied the game with 6 minutes to go in the period on a rebound to the back door.

2nd Period:

WPG: Overage forward Owen Pederson netted his fifth of the season on the power play midway through the 2nd to regain the Winnipeg lead.

WPG: Two minutes later, Sabres 1st Rounder Matthew Savoie added another to put Winnipeg up by two.

VAN: Giants captain Zack Ostapchuk scored his first of the year on a deflection during 4on4 play with 4:32 left in the middle frame.

3rd Period:

WPG: Geekie scored one of his own midway through the third off the rebound of a Ben Zloty shot.

VAN: Carson Haynes scored his first as a Giant 11:36 into the period to bring the game within one, but it was the final goal of the night.
