ICE Reassign Cooper & Lovsin; Welcome Back McClennon, Pederson & Zloty

The Winnipeg ICE have reassigned forwards Miles Cooper and Oscar Lovsin.

Cooper, 16, appeared in four WHL preseason games registering two shots on goal and went 66.7% in the face off circle.

The 5’9″, 159 pound forward from Calgary, Alberta, registered 82 points (24 goals and 58 assists) in 33 games last season with the Edge School U16 Prep team and 11 points (three goals and eight assists) in seven games with the Edge School U18 Prep team, both in the Canadian Sport School Hockey Leagues.


Cooper was selected by the ICE in the third round, 67th overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

Lovsin, 16, appeared in four WHL preseason games registering five shots on goal and went 71.4% in the face off circle.

The 5’9″, 147 pound forward registered 22 points (12 goals and 10 assists) in 23 games last season with the Edge School U16 Prep team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.

Lovsin was selected by the ICE in the sixth round, 117th overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft

The ICE are also proud to welcome three players back to Winnipeg from NHL Training Camps: Connor McClennon (Colorado), Owen Pederson (Nashville) and Ben Zloty (Arizona).

The ICE active roster currently includes three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 12 forwards.

The ICE currently have four players attending NHL Training Camps: Conor Geekie, (Arizona), Carson Lambos (Minnesota), Mikey Milne (Minnesota), and Matthew Savoie (Buffalo).

Winnipeg opens the 2022-23 WHL regular season schedule Saturday night in Brandon against the Wheat Kings (6:30 on CFRW 1290 AM, WHL Live on CHL TV).
