Hunter Jones Announces Commitment to American International College

October 18, 2022 – North American Hockey League (NAHL)Oklahoma Warriors News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Warriors alternate captain Hunter Jones announced his commitment to play for the American International College Yellow Jackets for the 2023-24 season Tuesday.

“I know American International College is going to be a great place for me,” said Jones. “It’s a small school and it has a great family culture. I’m excited to see what it has in store for me and playing there will be an awesome opportunity. I like the game they play, and they’re really successful. They know how to win, and I can’t wait to be a part of that.”

Jones, 20, has recorded 5 goals and 12 points in 7 games played this season, and was named the North American Hockey League’s Forward of the Month for September.

“It’s a great feeling but I couldn’t have done it without my teammates,” said Jones. “With team success comes individual success and I’m just happy that I have my team behind me, pushing me to do well. When we’re all on the same page and working hard we’re a tough team to play against. It doesn’t matter who is on what line on any given night, with the players on this team, we can dominate.”

The Andover, Minnesota, native gave insight into what will make the remainder of his time in the North American Hockey League a success for him.

“Going to the rink every day and enjoying my last year is important to me,” said Jones. “Working hard and seeing my teammates be successful, that’ll just make my year. Hopefully we can cap it off with a championship.”
