ICE CHIPS
The Winnipeg ICE enter tonight’s game in Victoria following a 4-1 victory Saturday night in Prince George.
The ICE got power play goals from Matthew Savoie, Ty Nash and Evan Friesen while Owen Pederson scored even strength. Daniel Hauser made 27 saves to improve his personal record to 6-0 this season.
Pederson’s goal was his first even strength marker of the season. His other goals include a power play marker and two short handed.
The ICE have a 3-1 record on their current eight game road trip. Starting tonight, Winnipeg plays their final four games in a span of five nights (tonight @ Victoria, tomorrow @ Vancouver, Friday @ Kamloops, Saturday @ Kelowna).
Carson Lambos was named the 24th Captain in ICE franchise history on October 6th. The 19 year old returned from Minnesota Wild Training Camp where he appeared in three NHL preseason games. Connor McClennon, Owen Pederson and Ben Zloty were named alternate captains for 2022-23.
ICE VS ROYALS
Tonight is the only game scheduled during the regular season between the ICE and Royals.
The last time these two teams played was Tuesday, January 25, 2020. Isaac Johnson had a goal and three assists in a 5-2 victory.
The last time the ICE played in Victoria was Friday, December 10, 2017. Brett Davis,Peyton Krebs and Cole Muir scored in a 10-3 loss.
