A tight game between the home-team Springfield Jr. Blues and the visiting El Paso Rhinos wasn’t settled until the third period, when El Paso scored the game-winning goal, ending it 2-1.

The game-winning goal was scored by El Paso’s Tristan Kimmen.


The Jr. Bues took the lead in the first period, with a goal scored by Tyler Borgula. Mac Gadowsky and Isaac Novak assisted.

Nick Justice scored early in the second period.

In the third, Tristan Kimmen scored in the third minute, assisted by Hunter Fetterolf, and got the win.

Game 2: Rhinos 1 | Black Bears 5

The Maryland Black Bears defeated the hosting El Paso Rhinos 5-1 on Thursday.

The Black Bears started the game strong, with goals from Dimitry Kebreau and Gabriel Westling.

Jesse Horacek scored late in the second period, assisted by Christian Catalano and Gunnar VanDamme.

In the third period, Kolby Amici scored in the fourth minute, assisted by Bo Cosman and Michael English, narrowing the gap for the Rhinos.

Adam Schankula scored midway through the third period, assisted by hunter ramos and Samuel Stitz, increasing the lead for the Black Bears.

Dimitry Kebreau scored his second goal in the 14th minute of the period, assisted by Trayce Johnson and Gabriel Westling.

Game 3: Rhinos 3 | Wilderness 2 (SO)

Bo Cosman put the Rhinos on the board at 12:04 in the first period. Less than three minutes later, the Wilderness tied the game. Minnesota scored again in the second period and held the lead until El Paso’s Donvan O’Neil evened the game early in the third. After a scoreless overtime, the game proceeded to a shootout where Frank Tafelski scored for the Rhinos. Hunter Garvey stopped all three Wilderness shooters and gave the Rhinos a 3-2 shootout win.

Game 4: Rhinos 3 | Jr. Hat Tricks: 2

The El Paso Rhinos defeated the visiting Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks on Saturday, ending 3-2.

The hosting team took the lead in the first period, with a goal scored by Donovan O’Neill. Nick Troutwine assisted.

AJ Reed scored in the middle of the second period, assisted by Tristan Kimmen and Jacob Zwirecki.

The Rhinos took the lead 3-0 once again when Donovan O’Neill scored after 8:22 in the third period.

Bohdan Panasenko och Robert Hyde narrowed the gap two times over and created real tension, but the Hat Tricks didn’t come any closer than 3-2.
