SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes are preparing for the California Clasico at Stanford Stadium this Saturday, Sept. 24, presented by Stanford Medicine.
The highly anticipated event features the Earthquakes vs. LA Galaxy, a military appreciation celebration, and the region’s largest fireworks show postgame. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, as well as on local radio via KNBR1050 (English), and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

Defender Nathan scored his second goal of the season and fourth of his MLS career.
Approaching Milestones
Midfielder Cristian Espinoza tallied an assist on Nathan’s goal, marking his 13th assist of the season. He is now one assist away from tying Eddie Lewis for the most assists in a single season in club history. Espinoza is also now one assist away from tying Richard Mulrooney for the second most assists in club history.
Once Again
Nathan and Espinoza also connected to score and assist, respectively, against Colorado at PayPal Park earlier this season (W 1-0 on May 7, 2022).
LAST GAME VS. FC DALLAS (9/17)
Reaching New Heights
Forward Jeremy Ebobisse scored his 16th goal of the season and is now tied for the third-most in a single season in club history and most among all players other than Chris Wondolowski. His goal also marked his second goal of the season and of his MLS career via penalty.

The Quakes extended their home unbeaten streak to three matches (2-0-1).

Back at Stanford!
After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Earthquakes are back at Stanford Stadium for the California Clasico this Saturday as they host the LA Galaxy.
Never Say Die
The Earthquakes have earned four come-from-behind victories in eight prior California Clasico matches at Stanford Stadium. San Jose has scored five goals after the 75th minute at Stanford.
The Shea Salinas Effect
Shea Salinas has tallied three goals and five assists in six prior appearances at Stanford Stadium, including one game-winning goal and one game-winning assist.

More than 40,000 Tickets Sold for California Clasico on Sept. 24
The San Jose Earthquakes announced last Wednesday that the club has sold more than 40,000 tickets to the California Clasico at Stanford Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 24 (7 p.m.), presented by Stanford Medicine. The match was originally scheduled for June 25 but was rescheduled following a power outage at Stanford University. The highly anticipated event features the Earthquakes vs. LA Galaxy, a military appreciation celebration, and the region’s largest fireworks show postgame. In honor of the 10-year anniversary of the first California Clasico at Stanford Stadium, the Quakes will recognize players and coaches that have competed in previous matches at halftime.
Earthquakes Forward Jeremy Ebobisse Selected to MLS Team of the Week
San Jose Earthquakes forward Jeremy Ebobisse has been selected to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Week for Week 32 after scoring his 16th goal of the season in the Earthquakes’ 1-1 draw against FC Dallas at PayPal Park on Saturday. Ebobisse, 25, has now been selected to the MLS Team of the Week five times this season (Weeks 6, 7, 11, 14, and 32), and six times total since joining the Earthquakes in August 2021. His 16 goals are tied for the third-most in a single season in club history and most among all players other than Chris Wondolowski.
Drone Racing League Comes to PayPal Park on Oct. 11
PayPal Park, home of the San Jose Earthquakes, will host the Drone Racing League (DRL) on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. PT. DRL is the world’s premier professional drone racing property and will provide spectators with a thrilling, tech-driven sports competition where the world’s best drone pilots race high-speed drones through an immersive neon-colored aerial course.
Emi Ochoa Called to United States U19 National Team for Slovenia Nations Cup Tournament
San Jose Earthquakes Homegrown goalkeeper Emi Ochoa has been called to the United States U19 National Team for the Slovenia Nations Cup in Terme Catez, Slovenia from Sept. 16-28. Team USA will face Malta on Wednesday, Sept. 21, Croatia on Friday, Sept. 23, and Scotland on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Ochoa, 17, signed a Homegrown Player contract with San Jose ahead of the 2020 MLS season. He was 14 years and 191 days old at the time, then the second youngest player to ever sign a professional contract in MLS history. Ochoa made his first team debut on July 20, 2022, in an international friendly against Spanish side RC Celta de Vigo. He also made 15 appearances for Earthquakes II in MLS NEXT Pro and played for the Quakes Academy U17s at the 2022 Generation adidas Cup.
Three Quakes Academy Players Called to United States U17 National Team for Vaclav Jezek Tournament
San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Cruz Medina and Quakes Academy midfielders Edwyn Mendoza and Oscar Verhoeven have been called to the United States U17 National Team for the Vaclav Jezek Tournament from Sept. 16-26 in Zlin, Czech Republic. San Jose is the most represented club on the 20-player roster. The United States will face Slovakia on Wednesday, Sept. 21, Germany on Friday, Sept. 23, and Czech Republic on Sunday, Sept. 25.
EARTHQUAKES II UPDATE
Earthquakes II defeated Minnesota United FC 2 4-1 on Sunday at National Sports Center Stadium in Blaine, Minn. Quakes II close out the regular season with a 12-8-4 (41 pts.) overall record in the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro inaugural season, finishing in fifth place in the Western Conference. ACADEMY UPDATE
The Quakes Academy boys’ U13s and U14s kicked off their seasons, defeating Silicon Valley Soccer Club 7-0 and 6-0, respectively. The two squads will next face Napa United at Ohone College this Saturday.
