Earthquakes Weekly Update: September 12, 2022

September 12, 2022 – Major League Soccer (MLS)San Jose Earthquakes News Release

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes fell to FC Cincinnati 6-0 on Saturday at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio and will now prepare for two matches this week. The Quakes remain on the road to face the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, Sept. 14, before returning to San Jose to host FC Dallas, presented by Valley Health Plan, on Saturday, Sept. 17.


Wednesday’s match will kick off from Dick’s Sporting Goods Park at 7 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Bay Area, while Saturday’s match from PayPal Park is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT and will be televised on NBC Sports California. Both matches will also air via radio on KNBR 1050 (English), and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

Earthquakes, Strike Brewing Co. to Launch Quakes ’74 IPA

The San Jose Earthquakes and Strike Brewing Co. have collaborated to introduce a hazy India Pale Ale called Quakes ’74, a tribute to the club’s founding in 1974. The Earthquakes will host a celebratory Launch Party at Strike Brewing Co. in Downtown San Jose on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 6:30-9 p.m. In addition to the launch of Quakes ’74, the event will serve as an official watch party for San Jose’s road match against the Colorado Rapids, which kicks off at 7 p.m. PT.

EARTHQUAKES II UPDATE

Earthquakes II tied Real Monarchs 2-2 in regulation and fell 4-3 in a subsequent penalty shootout on Friday at a sold-out Negoesco Stadium on the campus of the University of San Francisco. With the result, Quakes II are officially eliminated from playoff contention with North Texas SC now qualifying for the fourth and final spot in the Western Conference.

Earthquakes II will now prepare to travel for their final match of the regular season against Minnesota United 2 on Sunday, Sept. 18. Kickoff from National Sports Center Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m. PT and the match will be livestreamed on MLSNEXTPro.com .

ACADEMY UPDATE

The Quakes Academy boys’ squads will kick off their season this Sunday, Sept. 18. The U13s and U14s will both face Silicon Valley Soccer Club at Ohlone College.
