Ancaster, ON – The IceDogs travelled to Ancaster Tuesday night to face the Hamilton Bulldogs, falling a goal short at 4-3.
Daniel Michaud scored the only goal of the opening twenty on assists from Rodwin Dionicio and David Jesus. It was a period dominated by the goaltending of Joey Constanzo, making 18 saves.
Period two saw more of the same from the Costanzo, who even chipped in with a stretch pass assist to Juan Copeland for a breakaway goal after the Bulldogs tied the game at 1-1.
Even at two heading to the third, Hamilton got the lead less than a minute into the final period before Declan Waddick evened things at three. Waddick’s first included a first point in the OHL on the assist from Kevin He. The game winner would come less than 30 second later.
Despite out-shooting Hamilton 16-5 in the third, IceDogs offence was unable to get the tying goal.
It’s a rematch Thursday night at the Meridian Centre before the regular season begins September 29th versus Mississauga.
