COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the first time this season, the Omaha Storm Chasers open a series on the road with three straight wins. Omaha took game three over Columbus 13-6, securing the season-series win. The Chasers lead the season series 10-5.

Omaha started the game hot, using a lead-off hit from shortstop Maikel Garcia to start the game for the second night in a row. Center fielder Dairon Blanco scored a pair with his 13th home run this season. Blanco has now earned an RBI in five consecutive games, the first Storm Chasers to record a five-game RBI streak this season.

Catcher Freddy Fermin extended his on-base streak to 33 games with an RBI double to continue the scoring in the first inning. Fermin is now one game behind outfielder Brewer Hicklen for longest on-base streak on the team this season.

In the second, second baseman Clay Dungan hit Omaha’s second home run of the game, a solo shot to right center field to give the Chasers a 4-0 lead.

Columbus tallied their first run of the game in the third when Will Brennan hit a single to score Oscar Mercado.

The Storm Chasers responded in the top of the fourth when Garcia and Blanco each hit two-out doubles to push the Omaha lead back to four runs.

Columbus used an offensive flurry in the bottom of the fourth, plating five runs in the frame to take the lead for the first time through the first 22 innings of this series. Trenton Brooks knotted the score with a double to score Nolan Jones. Will Brennan added another to take the lead for the Clippers.

Garcia hit a double to start a sixth-inning rally, earning his fourth hit of the game. Blanco earned his fourth hit and his fourth RBI of the game with a double that scored Garcia. Right fielder Edward Olivares hit a single to plate Blanco before designated hitter Jakson Reetz scored Olivares with a single to put the Storm Chasers ahead 8-6.

In the seventh, second baseman Jimmy Govern hit his fifth home run of the season to extend the lead to four runs.

After Garcia walked to start the ninth, Blanco earned his second career five-hit night to put runners at second and third with no outs. Olivares earned a walk to juice the bases and left fielder Brent Rooker earned a trio of RBIs with a double to put Omaha ahead 13-6.

Right-hander Ronald Bolaños finished the game on the mound for the Chasers, allowing a baserunner but keeping the Clippers off the scoreboard to clinch the win.
