Celebrate CFL Legends at the 2022 Grey Cup Festival

October 17, 2022 – Canadian Football League (CFL)Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

Regina, Saskatchewan – The CFL Alumni Association (CFLAA), the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Saskatchewan Roughriders Alumni Association and the 2022 Grey Cup Festival Volunteer Host Organizing Committee are excited to announce another great addition to the Festival event lineup. The CFLAA Legends Luncheon, presented by Phoenix Group, is a flagship event at every Grey Cup Festival.

“The Legends Luncheon is something CFL fans look forward to every year,” said Pam Klein, President of Phoenix Group. “With emcee Luc Mullinder at the mic and a large CFL alumni contingent in attendance, this event is going to be one of the highlights of the 2022 Grey Cup Festival.”

This fan-favourite event will take place Friday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Queensbury Convention Centre (REAL District). It includes a silent auction, live auction, and heads-or-tails fundraiser. CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie and the Grey Cup championship trophy will also be there.

A highlight of the event is definitely the Hot Stove, hosted by former CFLer Marshall Hamilton – where you’ll learn the inside scoop and hear first-hand stories from CFL alumni.

“I can’t wait to get to the Grey Cup Festival and reunite with as many alumni as possible,” Robert Bronk, CFLAA President said. “We hope CFL fans will enjoy an opportunity to hear our stories and share in some laughter. It promises to be an exciting and up-close-and-personal experience with CFL alumni and fans.”

The CFLAA will continue its tradition of presenting the Alumnus of the Year Award to honour a local alumni member who excelled on the field and has made positive post-career contributions in the community. New to the program, the CFLAA Indigenous Champion Award will be given in support of the league’s “Diversity is Strength” strategy and truth and reconciliation initiatives.

Tickets are $157 (including taxes, fees and meal) and are available now at greycupfestival.ca. Tickets sell quickly, so don’t miss your chance to be part of this premier event.
