Birds Break Back into Win Column Bheind Ledesma’s Gem

Winnipeg, MB – Stevie Ledesma tossed a complete game shutout with 13 strikeouts on Saturday to help the Sioux Falls Canaries top Winnipeg 4-0 on Saturday.
The two teams played five scoreless innings before the Birds broke through in the sixth. Connor Blair reached base via error and Aaron Takacs followed with a single. Blair came into score on a throwing error and Takacs raced home on a sacrifice fly from Ozzie Martinez.
Jabari Henry led off the seventh inning with his 29th homerun, tying the franchise’s single season record. Takacs later singled with two outs and scored on a base hit from John Nester.
Ledesma allowed just five hits and two walks over his 137-pitch outing. Henry and Takacs each finished with three hits to lead Sioux Falls offensively. The Birds are now 33-65 overall and will matchup with the Goldeyes again Sunday at 1:00pm.
