October 11, 2022 – Indoor Football League (IFL) – Iowa Barnstormers News Release
DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive lineman Dillon Salva to the 2023 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.
Salva (6-5, 250, Merrimack) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Salva began his athletic career at Brookdale Community College where he earned All-League and All-Region honors in basketball before transferring to Merrimack College to pursue football. In his two years with the Warriors, Salva appeared in 20 games at tight end tallying 16 receptions for 230 yards and three touchdowns and was selected to the 2017 National Bowl. Salva also spent one season on the basketball team.
Following his collegiate career, Salva earned his spot at the Atlanta Falcons minicamp and later went to Training Camp with the Washington Commanders. Having a passion for fitness and personal training, Salva is now a successful celebrity trainer and body guard working with talent such as Fetty Wap and Kevin Gates.
“Dillon is a physical freak and tremendous athlete who has spent time at the highest level of football with the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons,” said Head Coach Mogensen. “I think he will be a difference maker for us and contribute on both sides of the ball as he looks to make this season a stop on his journey back to the NFL.”
Salva is the first defensive player to enter the Barnstormers 2023 Training Camp.
